“Dear wife,
I realize you’ve been pondering where I’ve been for as far back as months. I’m getting a charge out of life calmly and far away from you. I don’t miss you, I swear. For what reason would I at any rate?
I trust you make some pleasant memories attempting to take care of every one of my debts, until further notice simply keep in mind thaf I love you.”
Meilin’s hands tightened around her phone after reading those disgusting contents in the message from her husband. endless tears were rolling down the sides of her face.
Pay off his debts? he doesn’t work and all he does is make her life a living hell with all his unnecessary expenses.
She’s lost several jobs because of him and he doesn’t even stay home and fulfill his duties of a wedded man. She doesn’t even enjoy the sex anymore.
The house was half empty. She had to sell some of the furniture, her clothes and accessories to gather money because what he owed couldn’t be paid off with her salary alone.
She was truly discouraged and brimming with laments. She had nobody to go to for monetary help. A vocation was what she required and she required It quick. Regardless of the sort of Job, she simply needed to take care of everything then her mind will be at ease as she divorces her husband.
All she needed was that one job
A couple of weeks later she found herself dressed casually as an elevator girl, paper brown skirt, red shirt and a white face cap. All she needed to do was work the lift and ensure it’s comfortable enough for the clients regardless of whether it’s not for her.
Her salary was moderate but at least it was paid daily. She was qualified to have a better job but there was no vacant seats for her to work as a classed woman all because of that bastard she married.
She was a long way from being glad, the development of despairing in her heart was unavoidable. She was too worried to even think about smiling.
Some point out her imperfections. They state she’s not well disposed, She doesn’t welcome, she has a scary look, she’s not unreasonably lovely and parcels and loads of other superfluous objections
The head of the security service did advice her a few times on her daily mood but she was already accustomed to the frowns and the sadness. It would take a while before she’s happy again.
Time passed and she was gradually paying off the debts, but she lost a lot of weight because she deprived herself from food because the prices of edible commodities inflated.
She’d be sick but she’d still go to work. Her wellbeing was weakening at a quick rate however her brain was excessively busy with the terrible obligations.
She remained in the lift, her seventh month in the job. Simply hanging tight for whoever would need to utilize it.
A Man walked in, his hands in his pockets as he slowly leaned against the wall. His head was lowered and he said “thirty first floor.”
She complied and pushed the button however, in no time flat the lift halted and the lights went out.
Abruptly, an influx of dread struck when she understood the lift was truly stuck. Her claustrophobia kicked in and she began to breathe in while smashing the buttons frantically.
“Hey what are you doing!” The man from behind called her but she still kept on, her legs unstable from the haziness and the idea of remaining in the lift until the air supply blurs.
“Hey calm Down okay” The Man took her by her Hand and pulled her near his body “Simply inhale consistently. Follow my mood” He delicately murmured into her ear as he breathed in a moderate pace for her to follow.
“Haru Jun Yang speaking. The elevator came to a stop somewhere around the seventeenth floor. Please fix this problem and fast. A woman is here with me”
Soon enough the elevator lights came on and before they knew it they were already at the thirty first floor. “We’re here” Meilin slowly opened her eyes and she saw the doors were opened. She also noticed how close she was to the man but she didn’t look at his face ever since they were in the shaft.
She still didn’t as she wiped her tears away “I’m so sorry. I’m afraid of occurrences like that.”
“As an elevator girl, you better get used to those kind of situations.”
She finally accumulated the boldness to gaze upward but he was gone. All that was left from his presence was his faint scent of honey and petals.
At the end of the day, the office closed and everyone was on their way home. Sadly Meilin couldn’t leave her spot, it was raining. She didn’t have an umbrella, she wasn’t willing to pay for transport, other days she’d walk the distance no matter the weather but today, she wasn’t going to take risks. It was stormy and chances of getting blown or electrocuted were high.
She continued to wait for the weather to clear up but an hour passed and it seemed like that pressure was ten times more.
It was getting dim and she was almost certain she was the last individual in the premises. “Need a lift ma’am?” She gazed upward and that commonplace aroma shot through her nose and her face blushed as she took a gander at the essence of a divine being.
Her heart pounded delicately as she gazed at his one of a kind highlights. His mono lidded ocean green eyes adjusted and splendidly associated with his nose. Flawless skin, with an ideal hair style.
What was the taboo sentiments in her heart called? She was married but she was starting to like him…
